Report: Meeting of Bibi and Obama was all about Iran

Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Barack Obama focused excusively on Iran when they met in Washington Monday, and so did Netanyahu and French president Nicolas Sarkozy when they met in Paris on Wednesday. Iran also was the subject for the meeting between defense minster Ehud Barak and US defense secretary Robert Gates Monday, DebkaFile reports.

DEBKAfile's Washington sources report that briefings to the media and joint communiqués were disallowed to obscure the content of the conversations. The unusual treatment of Netanyahu -- such as arriving at the White House in a plain van after hours and the long delay in publishing an agenda for the meeting -- can also be explained in a similar way, as can reports of discussions involving Syria.

A "very senior American official" told DEBKAfile that barriers had fallen in the relations between Obama and Netanyahu.

These seemingly clandestine discussions between Netanyahu and Obama might indeed be focused on the looming problem of Iran... or Syria... or Hamas.... or.... just about anything concerning our beloved Israel. But Iran is indeed a pressing worry. Certainly, Amadinejad is. The frustrations of the democratic movement within the people of that nation attest to the viciousness of the current regime and it will be some time yet before we see Iran as a happy, peaceful democracy. Meanwhile, Iran's regime is 'protected' in the UN by contra-measures from China and Russia against critcisms from the USA and others. Russia, because it seeks geopolitical influence in the region (has for centuries!) and China because it wants the oil. Both, because they see an opportunity to creep into the hegemonic gap left by a disheartened America and an apologetic president.
My study of Ezekiel's predicted war suggests an involvement of certain far northern 'nations' which have been collectively identified as modern Russia. These nations, in alliance with other middle eastern countries, attempt an invasion of Israel primarily for "spoil". Of course, Amadinejad et al's intentions would be to see Israel wiped off the map. Russia's and China's would be to access the oil and force economic concessions; trade routes, pipelines, port access and so on, to their advantage. As we all know, converging interests determine alliances and this current political scenario described above does indeed match the prophecies of Ezekiel as Michael Shoemaker pointed out. The question is one of time. The democracy movement that exists in Iran must be encouraged so that Amadinejad's sabre rattling becomes increasingly less influential over the deluded mob. This would deter if not outrightly eliminate any arguments for military actions / alliances of Iran against Israel. I read the situation with Obama and Netanyahu as something of a wake up call for Obama - his hitherto rhetoric on the Palestinians' behalf might become less pronounced as time goes by, as Obama realises what a powder-keg the wider situation of Israel and the Middle East is. It is one thing to say something to appear balanced and fair... but Obama (I would hope) ought to become increasingly aware that even the smallest of comments from him criticising Israel will give heart to those who happily await an excuse to justify a physical attack on Israel. On the other hand, if he is indeed as pro-Palestinian as we are given to believe then he is next-to-useless as an American president who would actively support Israel when the chips are down. If Obama is set on reducing America's presence and influence in world affairs (as seems the case with all his bowing and apologizing these days!) then Israel will need to look for allies elsewhere. "Politics makes strange bedfellows", and if a deterrance to an alliance of Iran/Russia/Syria/Hizbullah/Hamas & the Palestinians requires Israel to spell out reality to Egypt and Saudi Arabia, then Ezekiel's prophecy will indeed eventuate as predicted.
Again, "WHEN?" is the pressing question. I see the Ezekiel war as something that happens well BEFORE any other major military confrontation / global economic and environmental meltdown: the "Tribulation", as it's been called. This could be anywhere from next month to... whenever.
If Obama can be made to understand that America needs to maintain her military readiness and honor her commitments to the only true democracy in the region (Israel) then such a war is some way off yet. Meanwhile, all assistance and encouragement must be given to all true democratic movements in the Middle East such that the people of these countries might one day enjoy as many of the benefits of democracy as possible; open discourse, freedom of thought, equity of opportunities, a broad-based economy and most of all, tolerance of others.
Of course it all starts with one thing; stop hating Israel and using Jew-hate as an excuse for self-caused troubles. Sadly, for much of the Middle East (indeed, the world) this is more easily said than done.

If DEBKA is to be believed (a big IF), we are on the brink of a war between:

A. Turkey, Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Hizbullah, HAMAS and the Yemeni rebels and
B. Israel, Egypt, Jordan & Saudi Arabia

The "B" alliance, of course, must never be admitted

Everyone else, with the US in the lead, seems to be in the "bystander" category. This sounds so much like Ezekiel 38, it's sickening. If you simply look at history and ignore everyone's Biblical shtik, Gog & all its allies = Turkey, Iran, Sudan & Somalia -- too close for comfort to the Shiite-led Islamic Alliance. In Ezekiel, again ignoring religious shtik, the US and the Western powers are the "Merchants of Tarshish" who, essentially, do nothing in the conflict except express politically correct mock "shock & dismay". The Saudis & friends are Sheba & Dedan, who do essentially the same. Israel bears the brunt of the onslaught alone -- and wins!

That's what the prophecy says, and what the news seems to say. It's enough to spoil my supper, but it seems inevitable. I can't post names to describe what I think about Obama, Sarkozy and the whole crew; and it's just as well, because I cannot possibly think of words vile enough. May God deal with them according to their deeds, and quickly!

Why we should strike now.
On December 14, 2001, former president Ayatollah Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani famously declared, "The use of an atomic bomb against Israel would totally destroy Israel, while the same against the Islamic world would only cause damage. Such a scenario is not inconceivable." On February 14, 2005, Ayatollah Mohammad Baqer Kharrazi, secretary general of Iranian Hezbollah, said, "We are able to produce atomic bombs and we will do that. We shouldn't be afraid of anyone. The U.S. is not more than a barking dog." More at : http://israelagainstterror.blogspot.com/2009/10/why-this-man-is-laughing-fit-to-explode_08.html
