No sex for Amir after he spills beans in interviews

Following previews Thursday evening of TV interviews given by Yigal Amir, convicted of assassinating former prime minister Yitzhak Rabin to both Channel 10 and Channel 2, the Israel Prison Service has decided to punish Amir by preventing conjugal visits by his wife, Larissa Trimbobler. The IPS told Amir his conduct was a violation that would be published by isolating him from the outside world, not to mention his wife's private parts.

In a preview to the interview given to Channel 10 aired thursday evening, Amir said that the people who influenced him in his decision to murder Rabin, included Ariel Sharon (a vegetable) Rafael Eitan (reportedly washed off a pier), Rehavam Ze'evi (murdered by terrorists). Amir said he did not need the blessing or approval of a rabbi. "There is no need for a rabbi for this. This is not about a rabbi saying it…I saw that all the greatest military experts said it's leading to disaster," referring to the 1993 deal between Israel and the Palestinians which was signed by Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat and Rabin.

Amir said an early encounter with the then-Prime Minister at a wedding persuaded him how easy it would be. "My friend married [Chief] Rabbi Lau's daughter. Rabin was one of the guests. He sat by the table with only one bodyguard next to him. If I would have walked over there to shake his hand, I could have shot him easily had I wanted to," he told Channel 10. "I was right next to him…walking around. I was there with a gun. But I didn't do it," he said. "I saw how easy it was. I told myself that in a few years I'll regret that I didn't do it, or something like that."

The IPS has asked the TV stations not to air the interviews, which coincide with the week that begins the 13th anniversary of Rabin's assassination in 1995.

My problem with this man is the idea that he is so proud of himself. Let us say, theoretically speaking, that this guy did Israel a service by his actions. Let us even go further and say some soldier kills a terrorist in your midst. Is it really right to gloat about it or to throw it in the face of the loved ones of that person killed? Is this a behavior consistent with Jewish ethics? To gloat over the killing of someone created in G-d's image. Even if a killling is considered justifiable, is gloating about it and being full of oneself afterwards really the highest form of G-dly behavior?

In my opinion, what Rabin did to (not "for"..."TO") the Jewish people, with the multitudes of deaths and life altering injuries which were the direct result, no punishment was enough for him. I am against murder, but this assassination is so enshrouded in vague sideroads, that we may never find out what really happened. Whether Amir actualy said he killed Rabin, or whether the question was slanted tghatyvway, or whether the journalisty is using a little "poetic licence" Amir says that it would be easy, and he was inspired by famous soldiers. Anyway Rabin deserved what he got, and a lot worse. Ask the nearest and dearest of those killed since "Oslo" and those murdered from the Altalena. It seems that the Israeli people have forgotten that Rabin was, because of the "Oslo Accord" a multiple, serial mass murderer once removed, and he "came by it honestly. He earned it, and just followed the path he'd already trodden when he slaughtetred 17 drowning Jews who jumped from the Altalena,-which he destroyed-struggling in the water, instead of putting out a boat to rescue them. This will never be forgotten by ME anyway, and the same goes for his "master" Ben Gurion.

Even after all these years in prison this Amir is still so full of himself. I would think out of respect for Rabin's family members alone that the TV stations would not air such an interview. Just imagine how painful it would be for Rabin's family to even have to hear reports of what this man had to say about killing their loved one, especially if he comes off as still being so very proud of himself for commiting such an action.
