Iranian source: "Quake" Saturday was nuclear bomb test

Israel Insider exclusively reports that a seismic event this weekend in southern Iran may in fact have been a massive underground nuclear bomb test. According to the USGS, the tremor measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale took place Saturday night, October 25 just before midnight Iran time, with its epicenter at 26.70°N, 55.02°E, just north of the strategic straits of Hormuz, opposite Abu Dhabi.
Zoomable map source: Google Maps.

The claim that the tremor was in fact a nuclear test came from an Iranian nuclear scientist who claims to be working in uranium enrichment for the project. A report published by Israel Insider on Friday, October 24 included a captionless map that portrayed the area of the seismic event that occurred the following night, based on location information previously provided by the Iranian source.

Israel Insider's source reports that the test is in fact the second in a series. A 4.8 Richter scale event occurred on October 21 with an epicenter (26.70N, 54.96E) within 5 km (3 miles) of the October 25 tremor.

Israeli and foreign sources have long speculated that Iran has been in possession of ready nuclear bombs but would only begin testing them when a full production line for nuclear weapons is in place.

The source indicated that Iran is being assisted by China and North Korea. Israel Insider's Iranian source reports that two "nuclear rockets" have been completed and are intended for use against the Jewish State in the coming months.

The site of the test and the development facility are believed to be in close proximity. The location appears to have been carefully selected. The area is exposed to significant seismic activity, which could serve to mask nuclear tests, although the recent spike in activity in that specific area significantly deviates from historical trends. A tremor measuring 6.2 struck the area on September 10, 2008 (its epicenter was 80km or 50 miles due west), the largest seismic event in the area in more than 33 years.

The location on the Persian Gulf near the straits of Hormuz would also facilitate delivery and transport of material and personnel. the strategic importance of the immediate area may also be intended to deter potential strikes against the facilities, which could close down the flow of a substantial percentage of the world's oil.

seismic activities make me very afraid, in fact once was giving a conference on a medicine called Generic Viagra, and began to tremble and I was the only one who ran away, was a bit funny but it scared me a lot

How much longer do you think ISRAEL can stay out of an ALL OUT WAR that is directed and focused to totally annihlate her..?? MMMmm? Since 1948 she has been at war in every concievable manner...and all she has gotten in return for her negotiations and sacrifice is more violence and more enemies. The muslilms WILL NOT STOP until ISRAEL is destroyed or until someone changes their hearts and minds---and that will take an "earth moving" event. A lot of people are really, really afraid of what's inevitable; so they hide their head in their prayer shawls or sandboxes, they really don't want to hear it. It's been building for over 60 years and the "little wars" have been only the "birthpangs" of what is to be delivered. ISRAEL needs the best, most accurate, on-time, validated and documented Intelligence/PROOF that Iran or another beligerant state is getting ready to deploy WMD's against them....then ACT ACCORDINGLY, swiftly and TOTAL. Let the rest of the world see the facts and figure for themselves. Too bad OIL is going to be more valuable then blood at that point and the world will have to take sides. CHINA is getting mighty "thirsty" with her new industry....she will be watching the show, Russia will be watching China.

Israel will need all the help she can get. The "new radical socialist" in the U.S. White House will make things untenable for Israel in the next 12 months. "Her enemies from the sand" shall take that as at least as an emboldment (if not an endorsement) to try to annihilate her. A terrible storm is coming....It will come down to a decision for each man, woman and governent: You either support and defend ISRAEL; or you will face the WRATH of ALMIGHTY GOD. EVERY country, kingdom or empire that has EVER raised its sword or hand against ISRAEL has ceased to exist as a major world power....but ISRAEL must stay strong...prayers alone didn't stop the Nazis. Prayers alone didn't capture Jerusalem in 1967, or save Israel in 1973. ISRAEL can't take even a minor (ktn) nuclear strike in the heart of Tel Aviv...(no 911 for ISRAEL)..."saddle-up boys, we're going for a ride.

ALL RIGHT, WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?

There apparently WAS a report of an earthquake, but it's been deleted, only available as a "cached" URL.

But if you try to go right to it, you get this error message.
\
Perhaps it was verbally reported by people thinking the nearby Pakistani quake was there, and after checking the data, USGS realized it wasn't real?

then again...Maybe it's this one? ...from last week.

I don't believe the Iranian who said it was a bomb. He's just saying that to buy time.

Sorry, I'll have to get used to this format. This should make it easier to access those links. I'm posting this on 11/1/08 so whatever is on the links below will last for the next 7 days, so they'll be good to see the nothing the "occurred" in Iran for the next 5 days, at least. After that you'll have to take my word for it, or search the USGS website.

O.k. nothing to see here

...or here

Who said there was any tremor?

Pakistan had a big one, with aftershocks, and there was a small one in Afghanistan and on the Horn of Africa, and an itty bitty one in KYRGYZSTAN. Oh, and I have a personal communication from someone in the know who tells me that without a doubt someone in Regurgistan belched. But NOTHING WHATEVER registered in Iran, not even down to a 2.5, so I have no idea what they might be smoking.

(note that this next link only shows quakes for last 7 days, so it won't be useful after another 4 days, and you'll have to go to the USGS website and do a search.) If you look at the following links now (Nov 1), you will easily see there wasn't any tremor in Iran in the last 7 days!

List of quakes between 2.5 and 5.0 on Richter scale (again, good for next 5 days). Still nothin for Iran.

But, just to be sure, I strongly recommend we bomb Iran anyway.

As a relative neophyte in Middle Eastern issues, I'd like to ask the opinion of readers re the book "The Iran Threat" by Alireza Jafarzadeh. I'm about half way through the book and, if the author is to believed, there will be no productive negotiation with Iran on anything as long as the current regime survives. According to the author, seemingly a believing Iranian Muslim, the regime has embarked on an ideologically driven course to turn the world into a Shiite monolith fashioned after the current Iranian regime and that, of course, requires the elimination of Israel, among others, unless we are all willing to bend to their will. Should I believe what I am reading?

USGS data looks just like an earthquake - detractors need to prove their case,

Obama is naive enough (or is it egotistical enough?) to think that sitting down with radical crazy people will solve the problem. When someone straps bombs to children in order to kill others, talk won't send a message. Military strength and support will. I support John McCain. I believe he will do what it takes to help keep Israel safe from the threats of radicalism.

"Abraham and his decendants we are all those decendants "

I think you're mistaking Avraham for Noach. The 70 nations are descendants of Noach but NOT Avraham. That is why it is Incumbent upon those 70 nations to follow the 7 categories of Noachide Laws. In doing so then they are considered the Righteous Gentiles. I just can only wonder what the xtian nations will do when Mashiach sits on the Throne of Israel and institutes Torah Law for the nations and in so doing no "rapture" of the believers and no jc. There has been One false notion among the xtians that I had forgotten until recently. I don't know if it's still the case, but years ago the belief was that xtians would be rulers in Olam HaBa and thus be "Ruler" over the Jews. I wonder how many xtians still harbor this belief, since, without doubt, it is believed that they have a higher spiritual belief than Torah. If any still harbor this than they are in for a rude awakening. The prophets clearly state that Edom (Rome) will be straw and Israel will be fire.
