Iran warns of strike on Israel, may have nuclear rockets

Senior officials in Tehran are recommending a preemptive strike against Israel to prevent an Israeli attack on Iran's nuclear reactors, a senior Islamic Republic official told foreign diplomats two weeks ago in London.

The official, Dr. Seyed G. Safavi, said recent threats by Israeli authorities strengthened this position, but that as of yet, a preemptive strike has not been integrated into Iranian policy. But an unconfirmed source claiming to be inside a highly classified section of the Iranian nuclear project tells Israel Insider exclusively that Iran has already outfitted two rockets with nuclear weapons. Safavi is head of the Research Institute of Strategic Studies in Tehran and an adviser to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. The institute is directly affiliated with Khamenei's office and with the Revolutionary Guards, and advises both on foreign policy issues. Safavi is the brother of Yahya Rahim Safavi, former head of the Revolutionary Guards and now an adviser to Khamenei, and is believed to wield significant influence on security matters in the Iranian government. Safavi said Tehran recently drafted a new policy for responding to an Israeli or American attack on its nuclear facilities. While the previous policy called for attacks against Israel and American interests in the Middle East and beyond, the new policy is to target Israel alone.

An Israeli political official said senior officials in Jerusalem were shown Safavi's remarks, considered highly sensitive. The source said the briefing in London dealt with a number of issues, primarily a potential Israeli attack on an Iranian reactor. Safavi said a small, experienced group of officials is lobbying for a preemptive strike against Israel. "The recent Israeli declarations and harsh rhetoric on a strike against Iran put ammunition in these individuals' hands," he said. Transportation Minister Shaul Mofaz said in June that Israel would be forced to strike the Iranian nuclear reactor if Tehran continues to pursue its uranium enrichment program.

Israel Insider's source, who claims to work in a section of the project related to uranium enrichment, has been in contact since September 10, and has provided since a series of updates, some of which have been subsequently confirmed by outside reliable sources. The source expresses regret about the plan and its horrific intended consequences: "One morning which is nearer than you think you wake up by some huge blowing and then the sun would never rise for your people & country. This is saddest end for this story."

The most recent communication, received Thursday, reported completion of a second "nuclear rocket", two weeks after a first was reported. Earlier, the source reported North Korean and Chinese expert involvement in the project days before this news was reported by intelligence sources. The source report a specific date for a recent consignment and a specific location for the facility. The source reports a total of 185 tons of enriched uranium have been received from foreign sources.

The source, who goes by the pseudonym "Arash Irani" -- rash, indeed, if the sensitive content being reported is true -- claimed that "According to the programe nuclear rockets must be completed during few weeks and then all of them will throw" -- which Israel Insider clarified to mean that Iran intends to launch a pre-emptive strike against Israel as soon as an undisclosed number of "nuclear rockets" will be ready.

Israel Insider emphasizes that this information is unconfirmed and may be intended as disinformation, or even a sick joke. However, intelligence sources have reportedly confirmed that Iran may have nuclear capability as early as February, an estimate that may have contributed to the comment by Vice Presidential candidate Joe Biden that the next president would soon be tested by an international crisis. With this new information of an active consideration of a pre-emptive strike at the highest levels in Tehran, Israel Israel is releasing its fragmentary and unconfirmed report.

According to our source, however, the Iranians may not even wait for the next president.

Iran's nuclear threat and the West.
Referring to Iran's nuclear weapons program, Kouchner said the West is not particularly worried about Iran's nuclear threat because everyone believes that Israel will attack Iran for them. In his words, "I honestly don't believe that [a nuclear arsenal] will give any immunity to Iran. First, you [Israel] will hit them before [they acquire nuclear weapons]. Because Israel has always said that it will not wait for the bomb to be ready. I think that they [the Iranians] know. Everybody knows." A sad reality at :

Why is it important for Israel to be the first to strike?
Iran only needs one nuclear-tipped missile to get through and Tel Aviv, along with most of Israel’s west coast with 70% of her population, most of her industry and her international airport will be obliterated or eventually killed by radiation. I suspect that only then would Washington move and send body bags and food to the survivors - or something like Georgia. And if there will be one nuclear-tipped missile striking Israel, Iran will not hesitate to strike immediately also the rest of the world as can be understand by reading : http://israelagainstterror.blogspot.com/2008/02/iranian-threats-and-un-sanctions-debate.html

Decisions for the security of Israel should be taken in Jerusalem not in Washington.
Today the U.S. is doing everything it can to restrain Israel from hitting Iran’s Nuclear facilities - despite Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s frequent promises to "wipe Israel off the map". Israel will not be allowed to refuel in or fly over Iraq (despite control by American forces) because the Arabists in the State Department say "No!" There is no argument that Israel can offer in terms of her vulnerability that will change their collective mind-set to allow Israel to defend herself. In order to understand the immediate danger to Israel : http://israelagainstterror.blogspot.com/2008/01/nuclear-power-and-anti-semitism.html

If I remember correctly, Ashklon has fire rain down on it during Ezekiel's war. So it looks like one bomb will be allowed to damage Israel. That would set off the Samson Option, which would cause the rest of the destruction fortold.

Only problem is that Israel has no leadership at the moment.
